Welcome to the exhibition archive
In the course of Maritiman seasons, exhibitions have come and gone. Here you can revisit some of our previous exhibitions. Perhaps you recognise some of them?
Welcome to the temporary exhibition Fresh water - a world of life. Here you get to follow a breathtaking journey of discovery, both above and below the water surface.
It’s 3 October 2013. An overcrowded fishing boat has set sail from Libya. Its destination is the Italian island of Lampedusa. Close to land the boat starts to experience technical problems. A fire is lit on board in a desperate cry for help. Something goes wrong. The fire spreads. In the resulting panic the boat capsizes. Just 155 out of over 500 passengers manage to survive the catastrophe.
In the 2021 season, a live art exhibition will be opened on board the destroyer Småland. We welcome artists from the Artists' Alliance who, through various expressions, illustrate maritime environments and moods.
Between 2017 and 2018 Maritiman had a temporary exhibition. It told the story of military service and we also got to see the everyday lives of two of the very last conscripts before compulsory military service was abolished in 2010.
The Special assignments exhibition was produced by the Swedish Military Heritage network and was exhibited on board the destroyer Småland during the 2013 season.
On Thursday 10 May 2012 the exhibition Armoured lice – from American naval battle to Swedish archipelago defence opened to the public. The exhibition was about the American civil war and the famous naval battle at Hampton Roads which took place 150 years ago.
